After 37 years in active service , madam Margaret Addo a basic school teacher at Ada Kyerematen M/A “B” retired on Wednesday April 10, 2024.

Madam Margaret Addo began her professional career in teaching at Sarkodie Basic School in Koforidua in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern region in the year 1972 where she taught for 17 years.

She was later transferred to Nana Kwaku Boateng Basic School and continued her career by serving another 13 years and finally brought her service to an end after 7 years at Ada Kyerematen M/A Basic School “B”.

During a short ceremony performed to officially send her off at Ada Kyerematen M/A Basic School B the Headteacher of the school Mr. Francis Oppong Kwakye highlighted her resilience, hard work , punctuality and selfless dedication whilst in active service to the development and growth of students in the municipality.

Good will messages from the Headteacher and other teachers during the ceremony triggered an emotional tears from Madam Margaret Addo depicting her love and passion for the teaching profession.

Meanwhile, a citation and an undisclosed amount of money was presented to her by the Headteacher of the school in commemoration of her retirement from active service and for that matter the teaching profession.

In responding and showing appreciation to the management of the school for the gesture shown to her, Madam Margaret Addo encouraged her colleague teachers by saying “let us always put into consideration the wellbeing and the success of the students first and the good Lord will bless us”

” even though our conditions of service is nothing to write home about but we must continue to serve willingly and in truthfulness, is not about the money after 37 years of my contribution to the NAT mutual fund I received a penny amount of 12,000 for my retirement”

” This cannot even cater for 3 months of my staying in the house, so colleagues let’s begin to do something at our youthful age and in active service so that we don’t find ourselves wanting when we go on retirement” Madam Margaret Addo advised her colleagues.
