The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin, has launched the 25th-anniversary celebration of his accession to the Ofori Panin Stool, inviting thousands of natives, friends, and well-wishers to join in the festivities in the Akyem Abuakwa traditional area from May to December 2024.

Speaking on the occasion, Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah highlighted the developmental challenges faced by Okyeman and the Eastern Region during Osagyefo’s ascension, including issues in education, teenage pregnancy, and HIV.

However, under Osagyefo’s leadership, ten Amoatia Ofori Panin Model Schools have been established to address these challenges, along with the University College of Agriculture, Environment, and Science (UCAES) at Bonsu.

Furthermore, the Okyenhene’s commitment to environmental conservation and climate change mitigation has earned him global recognition.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the planning committee has organized various events, including the planting of 1 million trees as part of the Green Ghana Project, durbars in all five divisions of Okyeman, a football gala, Asona Reunion, Okyeman Congress and Awards Night, Okyeman Fun and Food Fair, Golf Tournament, non-denominational birthday thanksgiving service, and a Mega Musical Concert in December 2024, culminating in a children’s party.
