Mr. Daniel Obeng Acquah, a lecturer at the University of Media Arts and Communication – Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ), donated his authored Timbuktu Series History Textbooks for Senior High Schools to Ofori Panin Senior High School (OPASS) on May 17, 2024. OPASS, located in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana, is his former school.
Mr. Acquah stated that his gesture aims to enrich the school’s library, providing students, especially those underprivileged, with greater access to educational resources.
He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and develop a habit of reading to broaden their horizons. He also urged them to take good care of the donated books.
The headmaster, Mr. Ernest Gyimah, received the donation and praised Mr. Acquah for his generosity. He also called on other individuals, civil society organizations, and non-governmental organizations to follow this example to ensure quality education for the socio-economic development of the country.
