Continuously making great inroads and attracting attention in the Constituency of Abuakwa South, is the Kingsley Vacation Classes, an intervention instituted by the Abuakwa South Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Kingsley Agyemang.
On Wednesday, 20th March, 2023, the Abuakwa South Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Comfort Ofori-Appiah paid a visit to the third batch beneficiaries of the above intervention who are currently being engaged for their first session, at the Asiakwa-based Akosua Agyeiwaa Memorial Methodist JHS, which is the study centre for the programme.
In a short address, the Municipal Director implored the students to take advantage of the Kingsley-sponsored programme, and reap the maximum benefits therein. Again, Mrs. Ofori-Appiah admonished them to eschew absenteeism throughout the time period of the first session.
The Kingsley Vacation Classes is an intervention which, for three years running, has been instituted for SHS Science students who represented their Junior High Schools (JHSs) in the various editions of the Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz (KMSQ).
The current group, for instance, constitutes SHS 1 Science students who represented their various JHSs in the 2023 edition of the KMSQ. Coming before this particular batch are two others – specifically, students who represented their JHSs in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the KMSQ, who are current SHS 3 and SHS 2 Science students respectively.
