The Abuakwa North Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized a compelling talk show at WBM Zion Senior High School in the Eastern Region of Ghana on the 14th of February, 2024.
The event drew esteemed guests from various sectors including Ghana Education Service, Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly, Cocoa Research Institute Of Ghana (CRIG), Electoral Commission, Ghana Police Service and Ghana Ambulance Services.

Centered around the theme “The Youth and Indecency,” the program was designed to deeply engage students on crucial topics such as good morals, Ghanaian values, responsible internet usage, legal accountability, and life-saving emergency response skills.

Mrs Beatrice N. Budu Opoku, the Municipal NCCE Director in her welcome address posited that, this famous day earmarked to show love and to return love to those who are so dear to the society as captured in Ghana’s calendar as Chocolate Day, is mostly abused by the youth in the areas of sexual immoralities and drugs, resulting in high rates of teenage pregnancy, Sexually Transmitted Infections among others, HIV/AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea and unstable mindedness which allow indecent behaviors, hence the crusade to redefine Valentine’s Day as a day to show love to save lives.

Distinguished speakers shared valuable insights, with the Abuakwa North Municipal Education Director, Madam Abena Gyamerah, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in shaping the youth. The Public Relations Officer for CRIG, Mr Lloyd Brobbey Adasi, threw light on the diverse sectors within COCOBOD and the significance of cocoa products consumption.
